About
Hello! I’m Camilla Lekebjer (she/they, b. 1980), a multi-passionate artist and maker in Umeå, in the north of Sweden.
I am interested in process, play and exploring new ways of doing things. Knowing this, it is of course no surprise that I’m into several different artistic ways of expression. Some examples: abstract painting, collage, drawing, photography (this is actually what I trained in), writing (this as well), zine-making and book-binding (I make most of my journals and sketchbooks myself). All these things bring me so much joy.

7 things about me
- I made my first personal website in 1996. It had a speckled teal wallpaper background. I felt very proud and excited about it.
- One of my favorite songs is Without Fear by Dermot Kennedy. What really gets me is the part that starts at 3 minutes in and goes on until the end.
- I am owned by two cats: Sixten (also known as The Lion King and Mr. Blue Eyes) and Bodil (also known as The Shouter and Her Majesty)
- I buy most of my clothes second hand because climate crisis
- Canadian conceptual artist Keri Smith is one of my heroes and the reason I first got into visual journaling
- I know my way around a darkroom (for black and white photography) (not very useful) (but just the thought of the smell of the chemicals makes me happy)
- I love swimming in the sea
